Summary
It takes place during the year 2025 where we open with an introduction to the plot narrated by the main character, Raleigh Becket who pilots, along side his brother Yancy Becket, a Jaeger known as Gipsy Danger. When they go off to fight a Kaiju known as Knifehead. The fight leads to the death of Yancy and the lost of Gipsy's left arm. This forces raleigh to solo pilot the entire Jaeger, which is impossible to do and dangerous to attempt, to kill Knifehead and pilot the Jaeger back to safety. 5 years later the Jaeger Program is being shutdown meaning they are now being funded by the UN but only for a few months. After that they wwill recieve no further help. All remaining Jaegers are to head to the last Shatterdome, a base/hanger for the Jaegers. The 4 remainign Jaegers are Striker Eureka, Crimson Typhoon, Cherno Alpha, and a repaired and upgraded Gipsy Danger. Raleigh gets called out of his construction job to re-join the Jaeger program. When Hong Kong is attacked by 2 Kaijus, Striker, Crimson, and Cherno are sent out but not Gipsy because the pilots weren't ready. The Kaijus quickly destroy Crimson and Cherno and use an EMP on Striker so the Jaeger can't move. They have no choice but to send Gipsy and the Jaeger's pilots, Raleigh and Mako, an untested pilot. Gipsy quickly kills the two Kaijus before they destroy Striker and the rest of Hong Kong. After this they get ready for an attack on the Breach. The plan is too drop a nuclear bomb down the Beach, closing it. During the battle though Striker, carrying the bomb, is severly inured and surrounded. The pilots decide to self destruct to clear a path for Gipsy because Gipsy is powered by a nuclear reactor. Gipsy manages to get through the Breach, set a countdown for self destruction, pilots eject from the robot before it explodes. The Jaeger blows up causing the breach to collapse.

Why its my favorite
The plot of the movie is great and really shows the pressure the characters are in and how close they are to losing the planet to monsters. Acting is also great as I didn't find any part that was cringey or out of place. I also like the designs of the giant robots. There's clear distinction between each Jaeger and Kaiju and it shows what each Jaeger represents. The CGI was also great. You don't get CGI good as seen in this movie anymore. The movie shows 'weight' behind the Jaegers and Kaijus. Really shows how heavy they are and how real they can be.
