Spider-Man 2
When a failed nuclear fusion experiment results in an explosion that kills his wife, Dr. Otto Octavius transforms in Dr. Octopus, a cyborg with deadly metal tentacles. The story also follows Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, struggling to balance his normal life with being Spider-Man, facing financial trouble, romantic issues with Mary Jane watson, and his friendship with Harry Osborn. Because of his struggles, Peter begins to lose his powers and stops being Spider-man entirely.
Pacific Rim
In 2013, a legion of monstrous creatures called Kaiju arose from a Breach in the sea. The Breach connects to another dimension where the monsters come from. To fight the giant monsters, mankind put aside their differences and develped a weapon, the Jaegers. Jaegers are giant robots designed to be piloted by two people connected through a neural bridge. Overtime, the Jaegers became obsolete, causing humanity to lose faith in them. With mankind on the verge of extinction, the last hope lies within a washed-up ex-pilot, a trainee, and their old Jaeger.
