Challenges
Throughout High School, I’ve faced various challenges emotionally and physically.
Physical Challenges
My body is very healthy and I have a pretty stable immune system, however when wrestling season comes, I tend to go through physical casualties that can be challenging throughout the duration of my season. Throughout my high school career, I have had multiple sprains, including two sprains on each ankle, three sprains on the same thumb, and tennis elbows. I have gotten black eyes that affected my coordination, and I have had a strained back that affected my ability to train properly in the Wrestling Room. Despite these physcial challenges, I was able to work hard and make the accomplishments I have today.
Mental Challenges
Throughout my High School years, I faced a lot of mental challenges.
Doing sports and school with extra curriculars is hard to balance. I found myself to derail towards the end of wrestling season when it came to school work. I have always managed to get back on track, but the process of derailing and then getting back on track is always hard and mentally exhausting. However I am proud of it!
I also faced a lot of familial fueds and issues that found its way to influence and affect my school life. Without detail, changes in family dynamics affected my ability to come to school healthy, or compete. My focus was always pushed around priorities, and it was hard to balance myself on them. That is why my Senior Year has been the most difficult year for me as my attendence and grades were affected heavily from the weight of outside factors in my personal life. However, despite everything, I have managed to compete, I still am managing to catch up on all of the work I unfortunately missed. I am grateful to still have the strength to keep going.
