How I've Been Inspired
Many people in my life, from family, friends, teachers, and even complete strangers, have inspired me in different ways and shaped me into who I am today. These people are the reason for my academic abilities, my interests, and my curiosity, and I don't know where I'd be without them. I have a passion for creation and a wonder for the world because of their influence.
Some of the people who have inspired me most include my mom, Rhea Whitten, my sister, Ellie Whitten, my AP Lang teacher, Mrs. Suesens, and game developer and composer Toby Fox. They have all inspired me in many ways and I'm happy they or their work are a part of my life.
Many of my values were created because of these people. Things like my love for art, games, and stories wouldn't be so strong if these people weren't here. Many of my skills and friendships would not be formed without them, either. If these people didn't exist, I wouldn't be interested in the career path that I am, I would have different beliefs and values, different interests, and I would be totally different overall.
The Most Influential People
- Rhea Whitten
My mother, Rhea Whitten, was the woman who raised me and is a huge reason why I am who I am today. She passed away on March 21st, 2021, but her influence lives on. She loved and cared for me and my sister every day and she is the one who sparked my passion for art and my wonder of the world.
- Ellie Whitten
My sister, Ellie Whitten, is also one of my best friends. Although we get on each other's nerves sometimes, we're always there for each other. Without her, I never would have met any of my friends, and I would have been alone in my worst moments.
- Mrs. Suesens
Although I only met my AP Lang teacher, Mrs. Suesens, this year, she has already had a huge influence on my writing. She has taught me valuable skills when it comes to writing essays, and I find myself using things she taught all the time. She has a very kind heart and I'm glad to be taking her class.
- Toby Fox
The creator of Undertale and Deltarune, Toby Fox, has inspired me for a long time and his creations are what initially got me into game development. His writing and unique characters touched my heart for the first time years ago, and continue to impact me today as more of his work comes out.
