About Mrs. Suesens
My AP Lang teacher, Mrs. Suesens, although I've only met her this year, she's inspired me a lot. She is very kindhearted, funny, and an amazing teacher.
She was my sister's teacher last year, and I only heard good things about her, so I was excited when I got her myself this year. She is very knowledgeable and good at teaching. She's good at explaining things when her students are confused and she's also very kind.
She's also good at making her class engaging. I'm always interested to learn whatever she's teaching, even if it's commonly seen as mundane, because she makes it interesting. She even made it fun to learn about logical fallacies by turning it into a project. I had a lot of fun figuring out how to make a fake cereal brand that related well to my fallacy.
Lastly, she's very kind. My sister liked to describe her as similar to another mom last year, and now that I know her too, I agree. She lets her students make tea in her class with a kettle she has. She's very nice when you need help as well.
How Mrs. Suesens Inspires Me
In the few months I've known her so far, she's already taught me a lot. My writing has gotten much better already and I feel more confident. Because of her, I have a better vocabulary, and I'm also better at organizing my essays. I'm also better at citing quotes and I am less repetitive in my lead in.
She explains what she's teaching very well. If you mess up, she isn't harsh but gives you criticism so you can improve. When pointing out mistakes, she describes ways you can do better next time rather than just telling you where you went wrong. My writing has improved greatly because I know how to fix my mistakes.
She's very generous and kind. She doesn't make you feel bad when you make a mistake but still tells you how to improve. She even gives us candy sometimes and we had a potluck recently. She always lets me take some extra candy so that I can give it to my sister. She's also got a good sense of humor so her class is often really fun.
Even though I haven't known her long, I'm very happy she's my teacher. She has taught me well so far and I'm excited to be in her class for the rest of the year!
