IT has revolutionized medicine. With the increasing size of the world’s population, the effective management of health care using IT systems will become even more important.
The 2.4 Health Website
The ITGS Health unit will be studied through a student created website. Students will be divided into groups of 8 to work on a specific aspect of the Strand 2.4 Health section of ITGS. The overall goal is to provided a detailed and definitive resources that will demonstrate competency in your assigned section and learn from other sections for the Health Final Exam.
Assignment:
- Research as many resources as you can to create a website that demonstrates a sophisticated level of understanding of your assigned topic.
- You must compile /create the following:
- At least 50 articles, podcasts, papers, etc. files related to your topic
- Each link must have:
- The article title with link
- The source listed (ex, BBC.com)
- A brief description of the article and its connection to your topic along with a listing of which sections of the triangle it relates to
- ANALYSE the topic. Break it down in order to bring out the essential elements of what it is about . The following should guide your analysis
DESCRIBE the IT system(s) involved.
DESCRIBE the major stakeholders.
EXPLAIN the effect the IT system has on major stakeholders.
DESCRIBE the area of application to the specific scenario (Business, Health, Politics, Home & Leisure, Education, or Environment).
EXPLAIN the social impacts and ethical issues caused by the technology.
- ANALYSE the topic. Break it down in order to bring out the essential elements of what it is about . The following should guide your analysis
- Each link must have:
- At least 12 videos about your topic (including Ted Talks)
- All videos must be embedded with preview window or picture
- All videos must have description of video and its connection to your topic
- All videos must have relations to all other sections of the triangle
- An embedded Quizlet study guide containing more than 25 terms
- Google “embed Quizlet” for directions
- Quizlet must be robust and functioning
- At least 10 IB level sample test questions related to your topic
- Research the type of test questions used previously for IB ITGS tests to create a proper question structure/complexity
- Questions will be used by others to study for the 2.4 Health Exam.
- At least 2 info graph style images related to your topic.
- Citations for all applicable material
- Links/embedded items are a citation unto themselves
- All other citations should use Easybib
- At least 50 articles, podcasts, papers, etc. files related to your topic
- You must create a website with the following features
- Easy to follow navigation
- Easy to read text
- Construction with a purpose (no randomly placed info)
- Correct/working links
- Contrasting color schemes
- Embedded picture/videos
- Practical and functional
- All links/videos/embedded files must work properly
Process:
- Gather as a group to assess and create a “plan of attack” to complete the project
- Make sure everyone has an understanding of the entire topic
- Make individual assignments that provide reasonable expectations upon the group as a whole
- Create a step by step plan to complete the project
- Create benchmark due dates for each step of the process
- Make a written record of all assignments, due dates. Turn that into Mr. Weaver on the first or second day.
- Decide upon the layout/format of your webpage
- Record all data outside the webpage in case of data loss (do not put into Google Site first)
- Check your project against the rubric as you progress and upon completion
Due Date:
- You will have 10 FULL class days work on this assignment. IF you cannot finish in that time, all work must be finished outside of the class.
- You will have 1 days to assess/grade the work of other students.
- Check teacherweaver.com for the specific days we will work on the project.
Grading:
- Only work posted on the class GOOGLE SITE will be graded.
- Each student will:
- Use the Grading Markscheme to grade the other 3 sections of Health created by other students
- Evaluate the performance of the 7 other members in your groups with THIS document
- Students who are deemed as "not contributing equally" will have their grade automatically dropped by 25%
